Coach of the Year


   
The London FA’s Grassroots Coach of Year for 2007 is Koray Palaz of Star Football Academy. 
 
Koray is a Level 3 coach who is responsible for overseeing the coaching/ child development at his club. He was also instrumental is getting his club Charter Standard Status this season.

Koray received several nominations from colleagues and some of his players.
  
“my coach is the best because …….. everybody has got better by coming to his training and also his matches”.
  
"I believe my coach stands out from the crowd. Not just because of his coaching skills but mainly for his methods and his approach
to teaching. …….We have had a very successful season in terms of football, but he has showed us that this is not the only matter in concern. Cups, trophies and awards may be proof of achievement but I know his definition is way above that……. He also is firm but fair and makes sure every player understands what he wants us to do clearly. He is the best coach in our league, he deserves this nomination because he is the best coach out there!”
 
   
“He just took the whole team to Turkey where they played 5 premiership u16 clubs. He is like a father, brother and friend to all his players. He helps with all of their personal problems. He cares about his team so much.”

“I feel Koray is dedicated and highly motivated and is very successful.”

As a county winner Koray will receive a Plaque, Bursary towards next coaching qualification of up to £200, Pair of Community Shield tickets (provided by McDonald’s).

Koray will also have an opportunity to demonstrate his coaching skills in front of the FA Regional Coaching Manager, Steve Rutter with the other winners from the London Region on Tuesday 12th June at Middlesex University. On this day a Regional winner will be selected to go through to the National Finals Event on the 20th July at Bisham Abbey
