Charter Standard In-Service

Ten-em-bee sports club hosted the London FA as they delivered an In-service training service for all Charter Standard club coaches on Wednesday 12th May 2010. Richard Horner regional coach development manager for 5 – 11 year olds led the session with A.C. Paulista F.C. under 11’s.

The session focused on innovative new coaching methods with a specific on counter attacking. Elements of the highly acclaimed Youth Module 1 course were infused in the coaches learning process which took place during the evening. Feedback from coaches was positive with many saying they would never have thought of running a session in the way described and many felt this was an “eye opener” that they can take back to their club.

Thanks must go out to A.C. Paulista’s under 11’s team who were praised by Richard as a very talented squad, and the coaches in attendance who commended the squad on picking up the complicated nature of the training drills so quickly.

A.C. Paulista’s manager Darren Smith remarked –
“We’re always happy to take part in something which could benefit the team and improve the players. My team usually play a possession game so it’s good for them to further develop as players by showing the benefits of counter attacking. The session was very productive.”

Parents and coaches watched from the side as the kids were put through their paces on Ten-em-bee’s 3g Astroturf pitch, just part of the facilities available at Ten-em-bee have who have also applied for Charter Standard status. Hosting the event in South East London at a fantastic grass roots facility only helped the session to go more smoothly.

In-service organiser Daniel Gayle was pleased with the evening and thanked those responsible for making it a success.
“Thanks must go out to the coaches who attended, Richard Horner, A.C. Paulista and Ten-em-bee. This is our second well attended In-service of the week following on from our all-female session, and hopefully the coaches will continue to enjoy these networking sessions and the opportunity for their further development it brings.”
