Between seasons 1994-95 and 2008-09, the LFA ran only one Women’s Cup. The competition was dominated by Arsenal Ladies and Millwall Lionesses having seen them compete in eight finals during this time.
 
As a side note, Arsenal have won the Cup eight times, Charlton Athletic three times and Millwall and Fulham twice each. Only twice have Arsenal failed to make the final.

In the 2009-10 season, as a result of increased interest and participation in women’s football, the LFA expanded their portfolio of Cups with the addition of a second women’s competition.
These competitions have become known as the Women’s Senior Cup and the Women’s Junior Cup.
