Coaches Take First Step

Female coaches in London have been taking their first steps on the coaching ladder for the past few weeks at Roehampton University

London FA have been running a Female Only Level 1 Coaching course which has given aspiring coaches the opportunity to get an introduction into football coaching.

Natalie Huntley, Women’s & Girls’ Development Officer for North London said “Female only courses are a great way of getting female coaches involved.  Now it’s our job to make sure they are given the support needed to progress as coaches.  We have quarterly female coaches events taking place so they can come down and watch sessions delivered by high profile female coaches and share ideas.  We are also arranging a prep course aimed at female coaches wanting to take the step from Level 1 to Level 2 to give them an idea of what to expect when moving up to the next level.”

Emma Barnes , Women’s & Girls’ Development Officer for South London added “Our next female coaches event will involve one of the biggest names in women’s football and we’ll be announcing details over the next few weeks.  It’s a really exciting time for female coaches in London .”
