Following Tottenham’s recent triumph
over
Chelsea
in the Carling Cup final, more footballing success came to
North London
on Saturday 15th March as 12 female coaches attended a coaching
event organised by London FA’s Women & Girls’ Development
Officers, Natalie Huntley and Emma Barnes, at
St Thomas
More
School
, Wood Green. |

The coaches were treated to practical
coaching demonstrations by Emma Barnes and ex-England and Arsenal
player
Kirsty Pealling
, both involving Tottenham Hotspur’s U12 girls side. This
was followed by a presentation by the Women’s & Girls’
Development Officers on the FA’s new coaching pathway and coaching
opportunities for female coaches. |

Emma and Natalie now plan to make these a
regular event as a way of supporting the development of female
coaches in
London
. Natalie commented “The feedback we have received from the
event has been really positive and through making these events a
regular occurrence we plan to develop a supportive group of coaches
that get together and share ideas, helping them to progress their
coaching skills and knowledge.” |
