SPORT UNLIMITED YEAR 2

 
*    Part of the “5 hour offer”: Targeted to give every young person 10-19 the chance to do five hours of sport per week (an increase from the current 4 hour provision)
 
* Delivery of Sport Unlimited is broken down into 3 terms (Summer, Autumn and Spring) across the academic year.
 
* PRO-ACTIVE South London has developed an application process which involves consultation with each of the South London CSPAN’s, Young People, National Governing Bodies and other community stakeholders.
 
* Sport Unlimited will provide:  
*    Increased opportunities for the “semi sporty” population – estimated to be 50% of young people – currently doing 2-3 hours per week
* Term time programmes, delivered out of school hours and in club and community settings
* Focus on high quality, attractive provision that meets the actual needs of the young people targeted.
* Target of 7,410 young people aged 10-19 to take up an additional 2 hours of sport per week across the 10 SSP’s in South London .
* £217K per annum within South London , to be distributed through a comprehensive grant system, max grant limit of £50K per organisation
 
* Five critical success factors have been identified as; (1) Joined Up Approach, (2) Student Voice, (3) Activities Framework, (4) Signposting and (5) Sustainability. Leading into Year 2 PRO-ACTIVE South London have identified 3 challenges, at least one of which has to be integral to any potential applications which are identified as follows;  
    1.      Increasing female participation
    2.      Increasing the range of sports on offer
    3.      Increasing participation between 16-19 years
 
* The programme will be measured against the 5 KPI’s as folllows;
* KPI 1 ‘Participants’ – number of young people registering and taking part in at least one session in a term-time series lasting a minimum of 8 weekly sessions of sports activity.
* KPI 2 ‘Throughput’ – the cumulative total number of Participants taking part at the series of sessions.
* KPI 3 ‘Retain’ – number of participants who attend at least 60% of the weekly sessions in a term-time series, i.e. 5 weeks for an 8 week series, 6 weeks for a 9 or 10 week series.
* KPI 4 ‘Sustain’ – number of young people who continue to take part regularly in sport.
* KPI 5 ‘Excel’ – the number of young people identified as talented and set on performance pathways thereafter
 
* PRO-ACTIVE South London key diary dates;
*    End Oct – Young Peoples Participation Survey analysis distributed
* 10th Nov – Deadline for Expressions of Interest to be submitted to P-ASL 
* 24th – 28th Nov – CSPAN meetings, borough review of expressions of interest
* 21st January – Deadline for SU applications to be submitted to P-ASL 
* 14th February – Expected sign off by Sport England of delivery plans
* April – Year 2 Sport Unlimited delivery to begin
