Charter Standard Growing Grassroots Fund 2018-19

Charter Standard Growing Grassroots Fund 2018-19

Growing football is part of our mission at London FA and we understand that setting up a new team or club can have its challenges.

For many people there are financial barriers, with up front or ongoing costs needed throughout the season. For this reason, the London FA is introducing our Growing Grassroots Fund, aimed at helping new teams get off the ground with a cash injection to support activity in their first season.

  • Funding is only available for the creation of new teams*
  • New teams must be affiliated to the London FA.
  • New teams must be, or commit to be, Charter Standard by 31/12/2018.
  • There are no restrictions on the types of clubs or organisations that can apply for this funding.
  • Clubs cannot have received Grow the Game funding for the same team.

*Youth teams moving up a year from one age group to another would not be considered as new teams. However, back filling a youth team with a new team would be considered as a new team (eg. If a club has one U10s team in the 2017/18 season, and is looking to have  an U10s and an U11s team for the 2018/19 season, the U10s team would be eligible in this instance to receive funding as a new team.)

Clubs are eligible to apply for up to £700 worth of funding per new team.

The funding will be supplied in two parts:

  • 50% to be paid by 14/09/2018
  • 50% to be paid by 31/1/2019, if all requirements have been met.

Unfortunately we only have a limited amount of funding we can offer to clubs as grants, and as such we need to prioritise our investment to have the biggest impact on football in the capital. Our decisions will therefore be made in the following priority order:

  • Teams most in need of financial support
  • Teams that can demonstrate clear consideration has been given to being sustainable for future seasons
  • Teams that are part of Charter Standard Clubs

If successful:

If your application is successful you will be notified by Wednesday 15th August.

At this point, you will need to provide us with the following documentation by Thursday 23rd August:

  • Details of the Clubs bank account
  • An invoice from the club to the London FA for the total funding amount
  • Signed Service Level Agreement (SLA)

If all documentation is correct and received on time, LFA will ensure payment is with you by latest 14th September.

All successful clubs must commit to being Charter Standard by the 2018/19 and funded youth clubs may be subject to an anonymous safeguarding visit as part of this funding at some point throughout the season.
