Sussex County u16's v London County u16's. 0 - 5 Venue: Lancing, Sussex. 23rd September 2012.

London County travelled to Sussex for their first game of the season. Brandon Hanlon showed great endeavour on the right side of mid field early in the first half, with devastating runs that terrorised the full back. After a slow start, with very little end product, Michael Rose opened London’s account with a goal to calm the first game nerves. Jamie Mascollcame off the bench in the first half to score London’s second goal. London went in at half time 2-0 up.

In the second half, Jamie Mascoll man of the match, began where he left off with an early second half goal and then a third in quick succession. At this point it was very difficult for Sussex to find a way back into the game. The defence lead by Lewis Summersby(Captain), James Cheney, Luke Whatford and Hayden Baker, were solid at the back. Both goalkeepers were outstanding. Freddie Filce and Dan Clarke played a half each and commanded their goal area with maturity.

The central midfield pairing of Philip Shomade and Liam McGarry contributed to a solid overall team performance. Not to be outdone, Grant Lye came off the bench in the second half and scored the 5th goal, to complete one of the best London County results in years. The eventual 5-0 result, reflected London’s dominance of the game.
