Nominations Are Now Open For The London FA and FA Community Awards 2017

The search for grassroots heroes in London has begun as the London FA, The FA and McDonald’s have today announced that nominations for the annual London FA Grassroots Awards and FA Community Awards are now open

The Awards aim to recognise and reward those who individuals, clubs, leagues or organisations, who work tirelessly day-in-day-out, week after week to keep the national game alive.

Nominees can be from any walk of life and the London FA is calling on locals to nominate their unsung heroes who have gone above and beyond in the name of football.

This year the London FA are asking locals to nominate from the following 15 categories with your top three going to a public vote in April.

The FA Charter Standard League of the Year Award


The FA best Inclusive Project Award


The FA Coach of the Year 


The FA People’s Award - Outstanding Contribution to Community Football


The FA Young Volunteer of the Year Award

London FA Contribution to Women's and Girls' Football 2017

London FA Contribution to Refereeing 2017

London FA Contribution to Youth Football 2017

London FA Supporting Recreational Football Award 2017

London FA Community Football Partner 2017

London FA Volunteer of the Year 2017

All nominations close on Thursday 13th April.  Londoners will then have the opportunity to vote on award finalists before the winners are announced at the London FA Grassroots Awards in June.

The London FA county winners of The FA awards will then enter The FA national competition where they will compete against winners from all across the country. National winners will be announced at The FA Community Awards presented by McDonald’s in August.
