Safeguarding

The London FA Are Recruiting

We've got two exciting positions available in discipline and safeguarding!

The London Football Association is responsible for governing, safeguarding and developing grassroots football across the capital. We were established in 1882 and have an incredibly rich and proud history. More recently we have been undergoing a period of very exciting transformation and modernisation, with a new Board and CEO in place and a new strategy to take us up to 2024.

At the heart of this strategy is a vision to harness the power of grassroots football to enrich more lives in London. We are passionate about the wider benefits that football can bring to society and we know that if we are to have any chance of delivering this vision, we have to create the right environments for people to thrive.

Addressing poor behaviour on the pitch and keeping people safe is absolutely essential if we are to achieve this goal and this is much wider than just a London issue. As the governing body for football nationally, The FA has a duty to ensure that all football played across England is a safe, enjoyable and positive experience for the many children, young people and adults who regularly play, watch, coach, referee and volunteer. The FA and the London FA are committed to working in partnership to achieve this goal.

As a result of the above, two exciting positions are currently available to join the London FA team as part of our governance department:

County Regional Discipline Officer (Serious Cases) – 12 month full time contract, salary flexible

The County Regional Discipline Officer (Serious Cases) is a new and key role in ensuring that the most serious discipline cases across the region are tackled swiftly, decisively and appropriately. Discrimination cases now form a significant number of the investigations and these are taken extremely seriously by both The FA and the London FA. It is for this reason that both organisations have come together to pilot over a twelve month period this new role.

Employed by the London FA but working very closely with the FA nationally, you will work across the Counties to directly manage the most serious disciplinary cases, including Discrimination cases and offences against match officials. You will also work to support a number of County Football Associations to support and guide them on their own investigations, ensuring that they have the skills and expertise to deal with serious cases effectively.
