REFEREES

Eve of Final Rally 2008

Following last year’s return of the FA Cup Final to its spiritual home of Wembley Stadium, the 2007 Eve-Of-Final Rally also returned to London, and what a fantastic evening it turned out to be. This year’s event promises to be just as successful, and will be held at the newly renovated New Connaught Rooms, very conveniently located in Central London.

Attendees will get a chance to mingle with the Cup Final Officials as well as listen to entertainment provided by ex-Arsenal and England goalkeeper Bob Wilson.

Girls Allowed

Females in London are getting the opportunity to become qualified referees thanks to two female only referee courses that have been organised in the capital.

London FA are running a course at London Marathon Playing Fields, Greenwich on 1st, 8th and 15th March and another course at The Hub, Regents Park on 5th, 12th and 19th April.

Natalie Huntley , Women & Girls Development Officer for North London said “It is great to be able to offer females an alternative way to get involved in football, and it’s also a good way for coaches and players to expand their knowledge.”

Emma Barnes, Women & Girls Development Officer for South London added “There are opportunities out there for females to move up the referee ladder, and it would be great to see more of them get involved, so this course is the perfect starting point.”

Anyone interested in attending one of the course should contact Natalie or Emma at natalie.huntley@londonfa.com or emma.barnes@londonfa.com
