Female Officials Programme

The London Football Association, in conjunction with Arsenal Girls’ Centre of Excellence, runs an innovative new programme to provide support for London FA’s female referees.
The London FA Female Officials Programme consists of a female officials group that is organised by a Level 3 referee with extensive experience in the women’s game. The group meets on a quarterly basis to discuss a range of relevant topics, observe experienced referees or listen to a guest speaker.
From this group, female officials are selected to receive ongoing mentoring and the opportunity to officiate at Arsenal Girls’ Centre of Excellence and receive feedback on their performance and support from experienced referees.
The idea behind the programme is to help support the development of female officials in the Capital, and to give them the opportunity to progress up the refereeing ladder.
The selected officials referee matches on a Saturday morning at the Arsenal Centre of Excellence under the watchful eye of one of the referee mentors, who is able to feed back to them after each game.
