FA Cup Charter Standard Schools Festival

Over 200 children from 20 schools took part in London FA’s first FA Cup Charter Standard Schools festival on Tuesday 24th April 2007at the London Marathon Playing Fields in Greenwich. The tournament was part of a series of events taking place across country and included Primary, Secondary and Special schools from all over London.

Primary School Winners - Stamford Hill

The aim of the event was to promote the Charter Standard programme for schools and to highlight the good practice that takes place in London FA Schools. The number of Charter Standard Schools in London has now grown to 124 and as more and more schools achieve Charter Standard status this annual event will grow in numbers.

There were trophies awarded to the winners and runners up of each category and in keeping with the principles of the Charter Standard, A Fair Play award was also presented to one team in each category that demonstrated the best conduct (judged by the referees).

Primary School Runners-up - Hallsville

Coaching and a penalty competition was also provided for Special schools. Everyone that attended also received a Goody bag and certificate of attendance which was provided by FA Sponsor Eon.

The London FA would like to thank the referees for giving up their time to support the event and the London Playing Fields Foundation for providing the venue and allowing staff to support the day.
