Female
coaches in London have taken their first steps on the coaching
ladder over the Easter holidays at Cantelowes Gardens in Camden.
With funding from the Female Coach Development Programme and the
London FA, 10 female coaches were able to access the course at a
discounted rate.
The course ran over 4 days and was very intense with everything that
needed to be covered, but the group worked tirelessly and gained
their reward at the end, as all 10 candidates passed, which is a
fantastic achievement.
With the opportunity for some of these women to progress onto the
Female Coach Development Programme to support them through their
Level 2 qualification and the chance for all of them to access new
FA Awards such as the Age Appropriate coaching courses, things are
looking up for the female game in London with the ever increasing
number of female coaches.
Natalie Huntley, Women’s & Girls Football Development Officer for
London FA says ‘’We are finding the female only coaching courses to
be very popular and are therefore seeing an increase in the number
of female coaches in London. There are plenty of opportunities out
there for these ladies to develop with their coaching, and we will
be looking to support them however we can’’
