Following a significant overhaul of London FA’s Board, we are now looking to enhance our Discipline Panel’s by introducing Independent Members.

This is to ensure London’s Discipline Panels are as independent and diverse as possible to better reflect the population of our Capital City.

We are seeking to appoint individuals from the London Football community who do not currently have a role within the London FA Board or Council.

Whether you are a coach, player, league official, club official, referee, or simply a fan of our beautiful game, who has a passion for football governance, we would love to hear from you.

David Howell joined London FA as an Independent Disciplinary Panel Member in 2016. David has been involved in football for more than four decades either as a player, a coach, a manager or a PFA Diversity Tutor. In his new role as an Independent Disciplinary Panel Member, after undertaking Commission training, David will now face some fresh and new challenges and is keen to contribute to grassroots football here in the Capital.

David has said of his new role “Some challenges are to be expected like gaining the respect of current County panel members who might be more familiar with the rules and regulations along with the guidelines but there is a clear structure laid out for all the panel to follow. Governance of the game at all levels, especially grassroots should try and mirror its wide ranging and diverse participation. It is important that the perception of panels and the discipline process evolves in a positive and constructive manner to reflect this and the role of an Independent Panel Member definitely helps to achieve this”
