London FA Girls Cup Final Day 2024 a fantastic success
Six exciting cup finals. Twelve finalists. One immense day!
London FA welcomed over a thousand visitors to Bromley FC to celebrate our U12 to U18 finalists and enjoy a day of the best girls’ football in London.
The results were:
U12 Girls Final
London City Strikers 0 – 1 Charlton Athletic
U13 Girls Final
Charlton Athletic 5 – 1 Hinton & Finchley
U14 Girls Final
Charlton Athletic 3 – 1 Balham
U15 Girls Final
Charlton Athletic 6 – 4 (Extra Time) Teddington Athletic Diamonds
U16 Girls Final (Sponsored by Bird Soup)
Barking 0 – 7 Hinton & Finchley
U18 Girls Final
Hinton & Finchley 8 – 1 Bromley
Besides the incredible football, London FA also ran loads of activities across the day for everyone to enjoy!
Inside Broomfields restaurant, we had the Women’s Euro Trophy on display alongside the London FA trophies. We had a virtual reality dive experience with 71 Blue and the Manta Trust, spreading the message of conservation alongside the excitement of football.
London FA Youth Council were also engaging with our finalists, asking them Who Is Your Why as part of their wider campaign to celebrate trailblazers in the female game.
Our 100FC female coaches network held a CPD, delivered by England Football’s Mark Leigh and Community Champions Ali Speechly and Steph Fairburn, discussing skills and tactical understanding which included a live match day observation!
Outside, Yo Street Zone held a 1v1 panna arena where visitors were challenged to take on the skills of AnnaxPanna – this resulted in some great nutmegs (majority from Anna herself!) and even the staff got involved to test their skills!
Commercial support on the day included transport generously provided by BMW Park Lane, and kit bags donated to all team players from Veolia – recycled from the 150th Anniversary FA Cup Final 2022 pitch banner.
We’re proud to continue supporting our chosen charity partner The Felix Project and would like to thank all our prize donors, including Charlton Athletic Women, Hull City Women, Keepher, Kitlocker, England Supporters Travel Club and England Football for their generous contributions.
London FA Women & Girls Football Development Manager Amanda Lewis said: "This annual event has been created to showcase, recognise, and celebrate the importance of female participation both on and off the pitch, and provides us with a platform to keep pushing the boundaries and continue raising the profile of the London FA Girls Cup Competitions.
"Building on the success of last season, a record six Cup Finals were held, showcasing the immense talent within girls’ football in London. We were delighted to welcome a record number of supporters to watch the back-to-back finals, who also enjoyed an array of entertaining activities focused around the female game, with a conservation twist.
"We’re already looking forward to creating a different type of special for next year!"
London FA would like to thank everyone who attended the Girls Cup Finals Day, all the volunteers, staff, officials, Bromley FC & Broomfields staff, special guests, trophy presenters, raffle prize donors, organisations, and clubs who made this day so special. A big congratulations to all our finalists and winners!
