Londoners feature on FA and England Football campaign to celebrate grassroots football volunteers

Two members of the London grassroots football community have been involved in the national campaign to encourage more volunteers into the game.

Haringey Borough FC Club Secretary, Karla Parker, and London FA Board and Council Member Tyra Mills feature in a new FA and England Football campaign encouraging people to get involved in football.

They were among the 14 volunteers who met with West Ham United striker Michail Antonio, whose well-documented grassroots football journey started at London club Tooting & Mitcham FC.

Grassroots volunteers including coaches, referees, grounds people, club secretaries and stadium announcers are crucial parts of the football pyramid and ensure safe and enjoyable environments for people to flourish. Sourced by football storytelling experts Goal Click, the volunteers featured in the campaign range from 13 to 73 years old and represent the diversity and breadth of skills on show throughout able-bodied and para football communities in England.
