Steve, from the Golden Lane Estate in the east of the City of London, is captain of the Community Charter Standard club LOASS at U/16's level and during his school holidays regularly volunteers his time to work with the Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme and the Fulham FC Football in the Community Programme. He is also a qualified London FA Referee and Mentor.

He is a keen all round sportsperson, regularly swimming with Anaconda Swimming Club, in Islington and playing rugby league, in the Summer, with the Brixton Bulls U/16's. He also represents the City of London in the London Youth Games in the Aquathlon and Judo.

Since 2005 Steve has raised around £3500 for various charities, including Leukaemia Care running in the London Mini-Marathon and on three occasions for the Lord Mayors Appeals in the City Dip, swimming 5000 metres (3 miles). He is currently helping to raise money with LOASS FC for the BBC Children in Need appeal.
