London FA statement on equality, diversity and inclusion
We have always been and remain fully committed to using our influence as a force for good to positively promote equality, diversity and inclusion across our game. In 2020, English football stood together in support of anti-racism and the anti-discrimination message at the heart of the Black Lives Matter movement. As an apolitical organisation, we wish to make it clear that we do not endorse any political organisation, ideology or movement, nor do we support any group that calls for or condones violence or any illegal activity.
The movement in 2020 prompted us to self-reflect and acknowledge, like many other institutions in society, that we can do even more to tackle discrimination. Our Racial Equality Action Plan, published in 2021, was a response to this self-reflection. It outlines the detailed actions that London FA will take as it seeks to tackle all forms of racism and discrimination across grassroots football in London.
The Racial Equality Action Plan is focused on the areas of the grassroots game in London that we believe we can affect directly. We would like to emphasize that we do not take sides on political movements, and we do not stray into matters that are beyond our remit.
