Update on DBS Checks - 3 July 2020

Details have been released regarding face-to-face DBS checks.

Following the recent relaxation of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, the FA have now been able to update and amend the guidance for carrying out face-to-face Identity Document (ID) Verification for DBS Checks.

We are pleased to report that face-to-face ID document verification can now restart, provided that the verifier and those requiring their ID to be verified observe all government guidelines. This welcome change now allows us to complete the required checks as far in advance of a season start date as possible, therefore avoiding a potential backlog of checks.

Please note that all youth clubs will now require coaches/managers/first aiders with an FA Accepted in-date DBS before London FA can approve your affiliation.

For those clubs who have started their affiliation application, please inform all your members that  require a DBS they are now able to start their application through the Club PIN.

As such, the London FA will be offering bookable slots for participants to have their documents verified by members of staff at our office in Fulham in the first instance.

We will look to hold future sessions the in the next couple of weeks at our office in Fulham (updated 16 July 2020) for those that still need to have their DBS documents verified – watch this space!

You can follow us on Twitter @LondonFA for the updates on when these sessions will open up.

We are also planning in future to expand these verification slots across other venues in London, to get a better geographical spread.
