Shining a Light on Youth Leadership

London FA are delighted to announce that two of our Youth Council members have graduated from the FA Leadership Academy (FALA).

FALA is an annual event created and delivered by The FA National Youth Council, The event is accompanied by a 12-month learning and development plan, during which the youth leaders are supported to create and implement a project within their local communities, which aids the growth and development of other young people, youth leaders and the game as a whole.

Both Nayim Ahmed (LFA Chair) and Rashan McDonald have been working on a project in their local community that they are passionate about which has made the game of football better for all. In addition to this, Nayim will be returning to his role on The FA National Youth Council next season as Senior Impact Lead.

Nayim said “My participation in The FA Leadership Academy 2020 has been a pivotal moment in my leadership journey and I have gained fundamental skills and knowledge to have a significant impact in my local community. I will work with partners and London FA to see my project of a grassroots football league that has developed in the last 12 months come to life in 2021”.

Rashan added “For me FALA was a great experience and helped me to develop my leadership qualities and skills. Along with those developments, making new connections and taking part in the workshops; they all helped to develop my coaching philosophy and my project which focused on developing my u12 team. The players got into a cup final, so I think that speaks for itself. It was amazing and provided so many other opportunities for everyone involved.”

All at London FA are incredibly proud of Nayim and Rashan and would like to congratulate them on all their hard work.
