Walk This Way to a New Footballing Opportunity

We’re launching some new walking football sessions in partnership with Age UK.

We are delighted to announce details of a brand new walking football opportunity across South-West London, as we work to make sure more people than ever can take part in the national game.

Walking Football is a slowed down version of the game designed for people aged 50+ and is ideal for anyone looking to exercise in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment.

Working alongside Age UK Wandsworth, we are delighted to have 3 new Walking Football sessions in Roehampton and Battersea. Sessions cost £5 but your first taster session is FREE! No experience is necessary, and all levels of fitness can be accommodated. No need to book for your first session, just come on down and try it out!

Session details are as follows:

Battersea (Mixed session):
Venue: Battersea Sports Centre, Hope Street, London SW11 2DA
Session Times: Tuesdays 2-3pm

Roehampton

Aquila Burgess, Football Development Manager at London FA said “We are delighted to be supporting Age UK Wandsworth with this fantastic new opportunity of walking football. We hope the success of the England team at Euro 2020 will inspire more people to return to playing football or get those playing the game for the first time.”

Sorrel Brown, Age UK Wandsworth’s Walking Football coordinator, added, “We are very excited to be launching our new Walking Football programme and to be working with the London FA. Given the 18 months we’ve just had, we’re hoping that our Walking Football teams will offer a fantastic opportunity for people to get back into physical activity and socialise again through the beautiful game. Our sessions so far have seen a lot of laughs and new friendships formed already so it really is a game for everyone, and we’d love to welcome even more new players!”
