Awards night

London FA celebrates our Grassroots Heroes 2022

Congratulations to all of this year's winners!

On Thursday 24th November, London FA welcomed our Grassroots Heroes Award Winners to Wembley Stadium to celebrate alongside London FA staff and board.

Awards nightWe announced our winners back in May, when we had over 300 nominations across the 10 awards categories.

The awards celebrate those individuals who make a positive contribution to football across the capital. The awards night was a chance to recognise those volunteers who make such an impact on our community.

Paul Bickerton, London FA CEO, says: "It was a real privilege to be able to spend an evening with our London FA Grassroots Awards winners. We are delighted to have been able to formally recognise their achievements and hearing their stories never fails to inspire me. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of grassroots football in London, and we are indebted to the time and energy they put into this great game."

James Middlehurst, London FA Chair, says "Many congratulations to all of our London FA Grassroots Awards winners and it was a real pleasure celebrating their success. We aim to make football in London welcoming and accessible to all, as we know the positive impact that this sport can have on people’s lives, and we couldn’t do this without our wonderful team of grassroots football volunteers."
