The FA commits £1.5m to the Disability Football Development Fund

FA Disability Workforce Fund

The FA Disability Workforce Fund.

In 2016, the FA's National Game Board identified a £1.8million Disability Workforce Fund (DWF) to place disability focused officers in county FA’s to drive disability participation at a local level. As a result of this the London & Middlesex FA’s combined to bid for an officer post which was placed in September, 2016 to deliver against the targets set over the next 3 years.

The role will support disability football across Greater London but some objectives are around:

- To create new recreational football sessions for people with disabilities or health conditions which we are calling Turn Up & Play Centres.

- To create new and support existing football teams for people with disabilities or health conditions.

- To provide an education programme to meet the needs of disability football in London.
