Braves Sporting Club

Safeguarding Welfare Officer 

This is a voluntary role without pay, however expenses will be provided when necessary. This role is provided on the basis of a successful completion and a clean DBS record. 

• Ensuring the roles and responsibilities of working with children are well understood by others; 
• Ensuring club personnel understand their safeguarding responsibilities and their duty of care towards children and young people, and what this actually means and entails on a day-to-day basis. 
• Liaising and working with the Youth League Welfare Officer (YLWO) and the County FA Welfare Officer when necessary, including reporting relevant incidents; 
• Promoting The FA’s RESPECT Programme and helping to develop best practice processes; 
• Willingness to attend in-service training facilitated by either The FA or the local County FA; 
• The commitment and ability to abide by The FA Rules and Regulations and promote The FAs Respect programme and safeguarding children education programme; 
• Attendance at monthly club meetings, reporting on safeguarding issues.
