FA Grassroots Football Awards

Congratulations to our London FA Council members

London FA are delighted to announce we have some London FA Council members who have been connected with prestigious national awards

It brings London FA great joy to announce that two of our Council members have been recognised with prestigious national awards.

Yasmin Hussain

Yasmin Hussain attended the BT Sports Action Women Awards 2021 and won Community Hero Award. Every year, BT Sport celebrates the achievements of brilliant and inspiring female athletes in the Action Woman Awards. The Community Hero award represents an individual who has gone above and beyond to support the women’s game, and Yasmin signifies that principle through her invaluable work.

Louise McGing

Louise McGing is another London FA Council member who’s recently been claimed as the regional winner for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award. This award celebrates individuals that give up their own free time to help others take part in grassroots sports. Louise is also the chairman of the grassroots football club, AFC Leyton Women & Girls, who recently won London FA’s Grassroots Club of the Year.

London FA couldn’t be prouder of these two trailblazers making invaluable impacts across the women’s game. To find out more about the London FA Council, click here
