Seven London FA Non-Executive Board Director Vacancies Now Open

These are voluntary positions, based in London

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at the London Football Association to join the Board of Directors in several Non-Executive Board Director positions. The term of appointment is for three years initially, and existing directors can seek reappointment for a further three-year term (there is a limit of three terms of three years).

The London FA is responsible for governing, safeguarding and developing grassroots football across our capital city. We are a diverse and inclusive team committed to representing the many rich and varied communities across London. You can view our strategy here.

Independent Non-Executive Directors x 3

For these roles, we are looking for individuals who have significant experience in leadership roles across a range of different sectors and can bring this experience to the Board of the London FA. You may have expertise in a specific area (HR, Finance, Risk Management, Commercial, Legal & Governance, etc). Experience and expertise in marketing and communications is particularly sought after, as we have identified this as a gap on the Board.

Independent Directors should not already be associated with the London FA in any way, either as a London FA Council or general member.

Non-Executive Football Directors x 4

For these roles we are also looking for people who have strong leadership skills across a range of sectors, but may also bring some direct football experience (note this isn’t essential). This could be across the grassroots game, the professional game or in different formats such as small-sided football, or the coaching and refereeing side of the game.

This position can either be an Independent appointment or from someone already associated with London FA, either as a London FA Council or general member.

Diversity is at the heart of our strategy because it is at the heart of grassroots football in London. We pride ourselves on the increasing diversity of our Board. We encourage applications from the widest range of backgrounds, particularly where there is often under-representation. We are particularly keen to encourage female, black, Asian and LGBT+ applicants, and applications from those with disabilities and from minority ethnic, faith and racial groups.

For an informal discussion regarding this position please contact the CEO, Paul Bickerton, on Paul.Bickerton@londonfa.com, highlighting which position you are applying for.

To apply, you will need to submit a CV and cover letter to this email address by 5pm on 31st October 2023

Interviews are due to be held in mid to late November 2023 (exact day tbc).
